I'm about to finish a coroplast version of the f-22 easybuild. It should weight about 20 oz. and will be powered by the Grayson supersonic with a 3 cell 1800 mha.
I just can't wait to see how this plane will fly!

Welll.....
I purchased the RX ready bird from Grayson. When I opened the box, all was well except no plans and no instructions.
Also the motor sent with the kit was the parkjet motor, thought it would be the other one. Gotta get out my reading glasses and re-read the specs....
BTW I dont wear glasses....
Where can I find the instructions? Off i go snoopin' for some. You'd think there might be instructions and plans in the box.

Im going to put a camera on it for sure. I love those slats, rudders and airbrakes you guys did. Looks like a very simple and clean set up there.
Then I'd like to put a micro turbine engine, retracts and an autopilot on it....but that is next week. This week, just want to get it built. LOL.

Yeah the rudder/airbrake combo was nice! That video will be up tomorrow. Cool little trick that wasn't too hard to set up.
Reminds me, I gotta use my aircam more often. I always forget that.

Hey Ken
The only version we have right now is the intermediate, which comes with the orginal Grayson V2 parkjet and a 1500 20C 11.1V battery. Like the guys say in the video, this is the largest of the easy builds so we figure its better to have a bit more power then less.
The begginer for sure will have the micro Jet
Thanks
Basil

Scott/Dave,
I had my maiden today of the F22. It flew up nicely but a few seconds later, the motor stopped. I still had control of the elevons and was able to land successfully. I tried flying again but then it did the same thing while it was trying to climb up.
To make this story short, I found that the ESC somehow got hot and burnt something on it. You can smell the electrical burnt odor.
I had the GraysonHobby Micro Jet V2 motor, a 20A ESC, a 6x4 APC prop and a 800maH, 11.1v, 15C lipo on this plane. I built the plane stock, no mods yet. Weight was 12.3 oz with everything on it.
I tested the motor using another 20A ESC, this time in my bench only, and it still runs. I didn't try flying the plane this time as am afraid I might kill this second ESC again.
What did I do wrong? Why did my ESC died?
Since my Micro Jet motor still worked, can I use a 30A ESC instead of a 20A ESC assuming that it was drawing more than 20A when it flew today?
Appreciate your thoughts on this.
Thanks.
