About the F-22
The new RCP Easybuild F-22 is one of the best parkjets around. Its large wings give you a very low wing loading with a high degree of maneuverability through thrust vectoring. Being a member of the RCP EB family, the budget friendly MicroJet Power system drops right in and gives you excellent sport performance with a 2-cell, 7.4v 1000 mah Li-Po Battery. The revolutionary 2-piece score/fold/notch nose that has been the trademark of RCPowers designs means not only will you have the best performing jet at the field, but the best looking one, too. Top this with the 3 hour build time, superior stability, unmatched scale looks, and an attitude to match it all and you’ve got a real winner in your hands.
Recommendations
- If you want more speed just add one of Grayson Hobby's higher performance motors like the SuperSonic and the Megajet. Don't forget to get a bigger battery, too!
- With the Microjet pushing it around, you have a very low wing loading to easily fly in areas as small as a minor league softball field!
- Go easy on your elevator control, this thing is very sensitive on pitch thanks to its thrust vectoring. Get it high and gun the throttle while pulling full back, WOW!
- Since your running the MicroJet buying more 2-cell batteries is very affordable! The average run time is about 10 minutes.
- If you don't like cutting out the foam yourself, you can buy the pre-cut F-22 kit here.

F-22 EasyBuild Build Instructions
1) Find and Glue together the four fuselage pieces. | _____________ |
2) Bevel the back of the fuselage and hinge the tailerons into place as shown. | _____________ |
Here is a short video that outlines how to make a control surface. | _____________ |
3) Carve out the foam and install 3 carbon rods as shown. | _____________ |
Here is a short video outlining the process used to install the carbon rod. | _____________ |
4)Install the bottom hatch by making a tape hinge very simular to the control surface hinge, do not bevel any of the parts here. | _____________ |
5)Score/Fold/Notch the sides of the bottom fuselage. | _____________ |
6)Glue the bottom fuselage to the top fuselage/wings. | _____________ |
7)Score/Fold/Notch the two nose pieces as shown and bend them up as shown. When you bend the pieces UP make sure the are facing DOWN. | _____________ |
8)Glue the seams of the two nose pieces as shown. | _____________ |
9)Glue the nose brace onto the bottom nose piece as shown. | _____________ |
10)Glue the two nose pieces together as shown. Work from the back to the front, slowly bending and warping the foam CAREFULLY to make it fit together correctly. It's normal for this part to take a while, so take your time and do it right. | _____________ |
11)Glue the nose onto the fuselage. | _____________ |
13)Glue the stabilizers in place. You'll notice notches on the bottom that can be glued to the sides of the bottom back fuselage piece. DO NOT GLUE THE NOTCHES YET. | _____________ |
14)Glue the motor and hatch brace into place as shown. | _____________ |
15)Glue in your control horns and set the servos up as shown. Make sure the servos are centered by plugging them into your radio and setting them up before you install them. Once they are installed properly and your happy with them, you can go ahead and glue the notches down for the stabilizers. | _____________ |
16)If your going to make this F-22 just like the one in the promotioanl video, get this kind of paint. Any flat grey will work, though. Then use it to paint the entire model. | _____________ |
17)Here are the vinyl decals that you should have gotten from (badbradgraphicslinkhere) or with your kit. If you live in a warm area or you are applying the vinyl decals where it isn't below room temperature, place them in the freezer for half an hour or so then use some office scissors to cut them up as shown. | _____________ |
18)Take your time applying the graphics. Here is a series of photos from the MiG-29 decal set that show how to remove the film and install the decal onto the airplane. Make sure you clean the surface you are applying the decal to. If you want extra time to slide the decal around, you can spray a LIGHT film of water onto the foam. | _____________ |
19)Here are all the locations for the F-22's decals This is just a general guide, as long as you get them close to where they go you should be fine.. | _____________ |
20)Take a sharpie and use it to "color" your engines. | _____________ |
21)Open your bottom hatch and glue one of the magnets in place then tape it down. Place a piece of tape sticky side UP onto the magnet, then place your second magnet ontop of it. Put a dab of glue onto the top of the second magnet. Now put the hatch down and reach under it to push the tape onto the foam. These photos are from the F-35, but the hatch magnet installation is the same for all the airplanes. | _____________ |

22)Here is how to build and install the shock absorbing motor mount. | _____________ |

As a couple final notes, you want the control throws to be pretty high to give yourself plenty of control authority. Expos at 50% are a good idea to keep things smooth. Also, make sure you strap down all your wires real good, putting them right infront of the prop wash can be dangerous if you don't. As far as power systems go, I have tested (succesfully) and found, with the microjet motor you can get a floaty, easy to fly, relatively slow plane with a 1000 mah 2-cell. If you want it to go faster with better speed and a more scale handling, put a 1500 mah 3-cell on it with a GraysonHobby SuperSonic v2. If your really feeling like some fun, you can put a Super MegaJet motor on the plane with a 2200 mah 3-cell and have a blast.

Kits for the ez builds aren't available yet, according to Scott. He said he'd update the links when they became available.
Cheers,
Brian.

Any LIPO charger will work. I have a Thunder AC6 that I like, along with a Hobbico MKII Quick Field Charger. The Thunder balances, where the Hobbico just charges.
BTW a 7.4V Lipo is a 2S pack not 3S (11.1V) That's a mistake on the title, as in the description it defines it as a 2S pack.

The 6 channel radio will normally include a receiver, I'll double check that the radio on that link does, and if it doesn't, I'll update the link with a radio that does include a reciever. Thanks for pointing that out!

The DX6i is available with or without a receiver.
Edit: The link under "Everything You Need" does include an AR6200 Rx.

Battery
I also noticed today (I've got nothing to do) that the list includes a battery, but not a charger. I know it's really obvious, but if a beginner (like me) orders everything on that list without really thinking it through, they might end up having everything they need, except some means of recharging their battery.
I happen to have a charger of my old heli, a Li-Po charger that can also do 3-cell 11.1V batteries, which is the same as the cheap one Dave has in the first Foamie-class video. I'm getting a 3-cell 1500 mah 11.1V battery. That should be ok for a while, right?
Thanks!
