  1. Learn to Fly Your Own RC Jet!

    May 23rd, 2012
From: Dave Powers (AKA RC Jet Guru)
    Dear Fellow Hobbyist,

Have you ever been to an airshow?

You know, ones where the Blue Angels perform crazy, death defying stunts. One right after another, mere hundreds of feet from the unforgiving ground.

Massive jets echoing a very distinct jet engine sound diving through the sky. The hinged parts of the jet move around in a computer controlled symphony.

All of the sudden two of the jets are facing each other, the seconds are fleeting as they look like they’re going to collide. You sort of wince from the expectant explosion.

You breathe a sigh of relief as the jets whiz by eachother, missing by what looks like only a few feet.

It’s like watching an action movie, but you’re actually there. Feeling the slight rumble in the ground, the gasp of the crowd as the pilots dance with their machines up in the sky.

I always get a rush watching them, imagining what it would be like to be one of those pilots. Executing weeks of practice with pin point precision to the excitement of thousands of onlookers. It’s really the ultimate thrill and talented pilots are few and far between.

Then one day I saw someone flying an RC plane. It wasn’t special in any sense, it looked like an old biplane from World War I and the pilot simply flew circuits over the field. It was gas powered, the engine was pretty loud and the plane seemed to exert quite a bit of effort to stay in the air.

It was fascinating to see for the first time. A small plane actually being controlled by someone on the ground. To see not only that it could be done but that it could be done well and with some level of skill. My hopes high, I went home and searched YouTube. Maybe it was just the pilot. But it got me thinking, what if there’s more?

    There HAD to be more.

There was much, MUCH more to RC than what I saw that day.

If someone was crazy enough they could buy an RC jet with a REAL jet engine in it. There it was, everything from micro models to very large models that took a small trailer to transport.

I had to get into this. Even a taste of what the Blue Angels get to experience was more than enough motivation.

So I spent the next 5 years learning to fly. Well, really learning to crash.

The “flying” I did consisted of 20 second gasps of madness as I tried to will the plane to stay airborn but each time it fell down. Again and again. Before foam planes the only option you had was a balsa plane, so I would spend my weekdays repairing the model and the weekends trying to get a few more seconds of flight.

I felt like a bull rider. Training and healing for weeks just to get 8 seconds of glory.

Eventually, I got the hang of it and I could keep the plane airborn for quite a while and actually land it.

What a joy that was! It’s an overwhelming sense of accomplishment when you take home the first model that didn’t crash. Soon after that the advent of what the community calls “foamies” was born.

Foam RC planes are much easier to build, much easier to repair, they don’t need a ton of room to fly, and they’re VERY affordable. You can easily get a beginner plane all the way up to an expert level model, or even make your own!

The foamies really lowered the cost and time it took to get into RC. Suddenly you could buy a foam plane, fly it a few hours later, crash it, glue it back together at the field, then fly it again! It’s pretty insane, especially coming from a world where wood planes were the only way to go.

Foamies or park flyers fit in the backseat of your car, only need a few acres to fly, repair easy and take crashes great since they’re foam, and in fact they don’t even need a runway. We hand launch the models and land them in the grass. You don’t need a special field or a special license or certification, just a little common sense and an open field. How awesome is that?

What this means is RC is open to everyone! Fathers & sons who want a project together, returning RC guys who got frustrated with wood planes & gas engines, or even beginners who’ve never even flown an RC plane before.

Soon after foamies came out I realized that was the future of RC and founded my own company, RCPowers.com. I began designing custom foam rc planes that are popular even to this day, half a decade after I designed and flew them. Now we host the most popular parkjet designs in the world and a growing community of RC pilots and builders to collaborate, it’s something I’ve grown very proud of.

I still fly about every weekend, putting on my own airshows for people in the local parks. I never get tired of seeing families excited over a jet whizzing around.

The park flyers we have here at RCPowers are a special kind called “Parkjets”. They are essentially jet shaped foam planes. The scratchbuilt parkjets are the best. You buy one set of electronics (the expensive stuff) and a stack of foam, then build your own RC airforce! The foam is low cost so a new model is just a few dollars of foam, a few hours of work, and you’re back up in the air! There is no cheaper or easier way to fly a different RC plane every weekend.

Here’s where I come in. You don’t have to spend months or even weeks learning how to get into this hobby every way but the right away, I’ve already paved the road for you. You don’t have to feel like a bull rider, there are fast and very low cost ways to get the thrill of flying RC.

My first tip to you as your RC instructor is to get a flight simulator. The flight simulator lets you get past all the crashing everyone has to get through. Think of it like learning to ride a bike. You gotta fall of a few times.

You don’t have to get a super fancy one, although those are nice. Here are some links to pick some up, now is as good a time as any to get started. Get one that is at the TOP of your budget, the higher end ones are worth the cost.

    Real Flight 6 $199
    Real Flight Basic $99
    Pheonix $175
    Generic $30

The second tip I wish I would’ve had when I was starting off is don’t rush to buy your first model. Let the simulator teach you how to fly, this way you can also get a feel for what kind of models you prefer to fly. You really enjoy models when they aren’t bought on a whim.

The third and final tip is the Perfect Parkjet System. It costs half as much as any good RC plane and it will save you dozens of RC models. As you can imagine, this RC stuff is VERY complex, and I can’t just write out everything I’ve learned over the years.

It takes photos, diagrams, and explanations. So I took a considerable amount of time to put together my knowledge over the years into a super simple virtual encyclopedia to help out guys like me and you.

We also threw some free PDF plans for our best park jets in there and $25 coupons to my favorite hobby shop, GraysonHobby.com.

Here are a few comments from guys who’ve already taken advantage of the course.

What’s impressive is some of these guys are experts while others are beginners or even just starting without experience!

    Kanans (June 4, 2011)
"This course is laid out like an OSHA 10 training course. Except instead of learning about crane load limits and how high a temporary guard rail is supposed to be I am learning things I actually want to know! Wish this had come out back when I first started the hobby. Lovin' it!"

    Davis White (June 6, 2011)
"Wow. This is awesome. So much information for 1/1000 of the price of figuring it out yourself. Well done."

    Alex Smith (Oct 6, 2011)
"Hi from Australia. I was the classic RC jockey. You know, the guy who sees a great looking plane on the web and notices how cheap all the equipment is to buy. Eagerly unwraps the plane when it arrives. Admires how great and impressive this plane will fly and then goes to the field with his friends and they all watch you crash your plane within 2 seconds and they all laugh and look at you at wasting all of your money and time.

I had a garage full of wrong engines mated to wrong ESC mated to wrong Batteries sitting inside totally inappropriate high speed jets and 3-D stunt planes . I had 7 planes all with broken bits so none of them were flyable. I was “Chuck Yeager” sitting on a donkey!!!

Then I discovered RCPowers web site and what a huge transformation it has made to my total enjoyment and what I get out of the hobby.

I subscribed and downloaded the course and read it 10 times. I downloaded it onto my iPod and listened to it in my car on the way to work and I even made the RCPowers website my home screen.

I put all of my broken planes in the bin or gave them away to local kids. I put all my mismatched engines, esc, batteries to one side and started from scratch.

My first plane I built was the F-18 . Looked great, no paint but scratch built. It didn’t fly! Why not? I looked in the RCPowers course and found out I had the wrong size prop!New prop and man does it fly beautifully. I threw this thing around and eventually crashed it (no pain, no gain). But I now know how to quickly cut the Depron, properly glue the sheets together, mount the correct engine, prop and battery and I even painted it ( Blue Angels). Next week I had a new F18 and this thing flew even better than the last one why because I knew what I did wrong.

So even though I am crashing plans I am learning all the time and improving which results in quicker rebuilds and this is a direct result of looking at my RCPowers course.

So there you have it, another satisfied customer who totally recommends anyone in the hobby, old or new, to use this course."

Now, because we want to get you started right now with your own RC jet, I am going to include some awesome bonuses that are worth $76.96!

FREE BONUS #1: F-22 V2 RC jet PDF Plans (Value of $12.99!)
The RCPowers Easybuild F-22 V2 is one of the best RC jets around. Its large wings give you a very lowwing loading with a high degree of maneuverability through thrust vectoring. The revolutionary "score-fold-notch" technology has been the trademark of RCPowers designs. This means not only will you have one of the best performing jets at the field, but one of the best looking, too. Add to this the short build time, superior stability, scale looks, and an attitude to match it all and you have a real winner in your hands. The new larger version 2 RC jets fly much easier and handle modifications better. This makes them better for beginners, giving them the flying ease of any trainer and much more exciting for the experts who love to pile on the modifications!

FREE BONUS #2: F-117 V2 RC jet PDF Plans (Value of $12.99!)
The RCPowers F-117 V2 is everything the original was plus much more. It’s very simple, just two servos set to elevon mode with our revolutionary “score-fold-notch” technology making the construction faster yet more scale. And for being a Stealth, it’s one of the most stable kits, oddly enough. It's just too easy to fly, too simple to build, and too good looking. It’s honestly in a class of its own and even stands out among our unique RC jets. The new, larger version 2 RC jets fly much easier and handle modifications better. This makes them better for beginners with the flying ease of any trainer and much more exciting for the experts who love to pile on the modifications!

FREE BONUS #3: F-18 V2 RC jet PDF Plans (Value of $12.99!)
The F-18 Easybuild V2 is one of RCPower's newest 3D nose RC jets with a stunning scale appearance. Like the other V2 models the F-18 has a very light wing loading to keep it easy for beginners and mod friendly for experts. Unlike the popular F-22 this jet is best for pilots who have been flying for at least a few weeks; it flies best with ailerons, elevators, and rudders. The F-18 Easybuild V2 combines every aspect an expert pilot could want, it flaunts the scale looks of the Navy's popular F-18E Super Hornet and is surprisingly stable. It has solid high speed flying characteristics, and only needs a couple evenings to get airborn. We’ve flown no other jet that can fly so stable at low, high alpha speeds, then break through the scale sound barrier in the same flight like this F-18 Easybuild V2.

FREE BONUS #4: Eurofighter V2 RC jet PDF Plans (Value of $12.99!)
The cutting edge design of the RCPowers Eurofighter V2 stands out among all RC jets. Using the RCPowers custom score/fold technology coupled with advanced computer design techniques we were able to push the limits beyond what is considered possible. The unique Eurofighter configuration gives the pilot a distinct advantage with the mid motor mount system without the large prop hole in the center. The full 3D fuselage folds together over a simple frame. This forms the strongest build we've designed to date, without sacrificing the RCPowers trademark of simple design. Combine this with an advanced pre-configured canard setup to guarantee smooth flying, the elegant simplification of an elevon only plane, and an optional rudder modification and you'll soon realize that the RCPowers Eurofighter Easybuild V2 is much more than any RC jet you've ever flown.

I’m not into high pressure sales tactics and arm twisting, so we should just come to a mutual agreement.

Grab a copy of the Perfect Parkjet System below and take a look over it. You’ll receive access to it instantly thanks to our automated software. There is no wait and you can come back to our website at any time and get unlimited 24/7 access to the Parkjet System from any computer in the world.

What if I don't know anything about RC planes or RC Parkjets?
The system starts with the assumption that you know ZERO about RC. We. take you from the very beginning with creating an understanding of how things work and how to get started fast & easy to as complex as you want to go.

What if I already fly RC and I just need some guidance?
We cover everything from how to wire a very complex plane to how to design your own parkjets. It's even laid out in sections so you can jump straight to where you need some help and just get the info you need right now. You couldn't ask for a more comprehensive, complete guide.

I think I can get all this off other websites for free
It's true, if you spent the years like I did working every day on this you might figure out all the principals and techniques after dozens of planes and hundreds of parts. After figuring it out for "free" you've now paid for your education in wasted parts, time, and planes. Think of it like a college course, sure you could figure out everything in the college course by yourself but it's much easier and more practical to let the college take the years to learn everything the hard way so you get it on a silver platter. That's what the guide is, a silver platter with all the hard work done for you.

I think it costs too much, all this for just a guide?
A decent RTF or ARF kit will cost you at least $100, how many planes do you think you'd save from crashing and getting destroyed if you knew how to? I've been told by people who have the system that they've saved over $500 with the knowledge in the system. Even if you only save ONE plane from needing a replacement the system has paid for itself. Call it part of the guarantee.

What if I don't like it?
I'm confident you will, but if you don't we have a 60 day 100% money back guarantee. E-mail me if you've got any questions about the guarantee or anything else about the course: RCSPowers@gmail.com.

    Can I really fly RC?
YES! There are expert pilots that are just FIVE years old, if a five year old kid can fly RC jets you sure can, and it's WAY easier than you think.

What are you waiting for? Your new favorite hobby is waiting for you!

If you have any questions before you get started drop me an e-mail at RCSPowers@gmail.com and I'll be happy to help! You can also post any questions or comments on this forum thread.

    See you inside!
