I do not buy many ARF planes, in fact I only have 3. A Champ RTF, a Cessna Skylane 182, and a Hawk sky. I have purchased a Twisted Hobbies Edge 540 to build my 3d skills, and I want to buy one of these two- the Sbach or SU 26 - as a plane to move into after that. Does anyone have recommendations either way? Bothe seem to have good reviews for the most part. I've been chatting with JettamanDan ,Boxermad84, fed5oh and rcjetflyer2 trying to decide if one has the advantage over the other. I would appreciate any help from those of you who may have flown one or the other or both!

Haha, I do feel better knowing that you guys don't have a clear idea which one has an edge either! I thought it was just me.

the air fences on the sbach should give it more stability through maneuvers but may take away from the rate of speed it can go through them giving the su a slight edge over aerobatic transitions.
i like the looks of the sbach better if that helps.

Haha, Boxermad, don't listen to you? The SU has more positive reviews except for a weak motor mount that needs reinforcing, but a little gorilla glue can take care of that. The sbach's canopy flies off damaging rudders. Bugger magnets can help there. I see more 3d videos on YouTube of the su26. I've emailed Basil to see if he's got feedback.

I like the look of the Sbach better, but maybe you could go with whichever one comes back in stock first?

    Neither maybe
    look at this bird

Information on build and flight vids here

Here is what I used in my build
    servos
    http://www.headsuprc.com/servlet/the-1499/Towerpro-14g-MG90-Metal/Detail
extension arms come in all the 540T kits that work with this servo

    ESC

    and
    http://www.quantumhobby.com/product-p/b-ztwescpc.htm
Allows me to set the ESC to 6V for the servos, love it enough that I have ordered two more for use in my 3DHS edge and one just to have around. the program card allows all the changes you get in a Castle card or things that most brands allow only through the radio sticks.

    Motor
    http://epbuddy.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=31&products_id=188
great motor, use this on my 3DHS 48" edge as well, 14X7 with 3s or 12X13 for 4s.

This plane out does the 3 Dynam planes in all respects
The Dynam Peaks Bi-plane is the best of the Dynam bunch, I have had a few flights on all of them and brought the Wattaplane 540t and am waiting for a spare airframe now. This the first time I got a spare while the original is still in one piece! I really like it that much.

    Spares here
    http://bestvaluerc.com/shop/default.asp
I think the US warehouse will carry spares in time
and these people respond to emails another plus.

Yeah another long answer from me but includes all the information I would like if I asked that same question and somebody had the info to share.
    Hope it helps

Thanks, lowkeylaidback, those look nice. I have gift certificates for Grayson so I would buy from them. I'll keep looking. I'll check the dynam you mentioned too.

That Peaks is for sure the best by Dynam, as with all 3 of these models shore up that foam around the firewall.
