“Total newbie to an experienced builder and flyer”
I could not be happier with what RCPowers offers. I had no idea this corner of the RC hobby existed until I stumbled across one of the RCPowers videos on YouTube. I purchased the Guide and have built 3 foamies. Crashed, put them back together and crashed again! With the assistance provided by this system I have gone from a total newbie to an experienced builder and flyer is a VERY short time. Here is everything you need to get started AND keep your interest by learning more from others via this forum. Great offering guys, keep it up!

    “Enthusiasm high!”
Got the Course and the F18 - free. This is amazing value. For a Parkjet wannabe with three complete un-flown models (X-31, F-22V2, MiG-29) this Course will be very useful - and save me pain and money. Oh, did I mention I crashed a plane yesterday (e-glider). Skills and confidence low - enthusiasm high!

“Youngest guy at our local flying field”
The Course helped me sooo much! I started flying the RCP parkjets when I was 10 years old. I am now 12 years old and the youngest guy at our local flying field. Before the Course, I didn't know much about scratchbuilt foamies. If you haven't gotten a copy of the Course yet, I would really recommend getting it. If you are a complete beginner and know nothing about scratchbuilding, you should take a look at the Guide. Good luck!

“It's perfect for those people with zero experience”
This new Course is perfect for the fresh noobs armed with the free F-35 V2 plans.
It's perfect for those people with zero experience that need to be walked through the process. It's a great start and will keep people busy and flying through their 1st year. Once they master building and flying the forums will be sufficient to supplement any knowledge and get into more advanced things like designing or building your own designs.

    “Worth every penny”
The Course is great! I didn't know much about RC. The Course showed me where to get the right parts. Even though I'm not an expert RC flyer, I can talk like one. Like Incisal said, it coupons and free plans. I think it is worth every penny.

“I am now able to help other pilots”
The Course is worth its weight in gold. I have gone through the entire course multiple times.
Prior to the Course (and these forums) I knew almost nothing about airplanes.
The Course took me from being a complete newby to being fairly proficient with RC aircraft design, construction and even flight.
Prior to the Course I only understood about half of what I was reading in the forums because everything was new to me.
After having studied the course, I now have a good foundation on which to build and understand what is being discussed in the forums.
Now if there is something that I don't quite understand, I am able to ask intelligent questions.
In fact, I am now able to help other pilots on the forum (and those that I fly with) quite regularly.
The cost is well worth it. the fact that it comes with multiple plans for multiple aircraft is an awesome bonus.
In addition to the Course and these forums - flying on a simulator has helped me become comfortable with flight.
I can't give a big enough shout out to Scott Lott and Dave Powers for the fantastic Course and for these plans.
    I will build them all.

“Not a matter of if you crash, it's when you crash”
I am just a satisfied advocate of the RCPowers franchise and only suggest that it can help you too. It may seem daunting at the start up cost to get into the air, but the Guide was worth the money for me. It made it easier to spend my hard earned money wisely in the beginning while learning instead of buying nice RTF planes to only crash it, and you will have a few learning crashes. It is like learning to riding a motorcycle. It's not a matter of if you crash, it's when you crash. Getting proper training from the beginning will help you avoid most of the pitfalls and not discourage you because of the accidents.
Welp, that is my two cents. Good luck with the F-35 and getting everything together.

“Just made my first step today”
Been lurking for awhile, been watching youtube and reading for years. Just made my first step today, got the new Guide, watched it all!!! Looking forward to building and flying a squadron of foam!
I am 45 years old, been building plastic scale cars for many many years, I am an electronics technician/engineering designer who used to work on F-18 avionics in the Corps. also worked for Hughes on F-18 flight sims, so flying is in my blood.
keep up the good work everyone, hope to be flying my F-35 and F-18 (once built) in the Spring!

“The information contained here is priceless”
I'd like to leave a few words about this ScratchBuilders guide. I am a complete newbie to r/c aircraft. I do have a good sense of flight characteristics etc. but completely new to the R/C world. After having purchased this Course and reading through it twice I can say the information contained here is priceless. This course does a great job in two ways:
    A) It goes over one of their kits in DETAIL.
    B) Explaining general and intermediate (yet you feel advanced after comprehending it all) knowledge of r/c aircraft and ALL of its components.
The only questions you'll walk away with are how to make to it better in a sense that you truly fully comprehend the r/c aircraft. As a newbie that's now better learned on r/c aircraft I can only attribute to having this course. Thank you rcpowers!!!

"This course will be perfect for someone who has not even put a knife to foam”
This Course will be perfect for someone who has not even put a knife to foam. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million! Each chapter starts with a video- introduction, cutting depron, assembly, etc- that is introduced and explained by Dave who has the F-35 V2 in hand and who is at the field. Even though it features the F-35 V2, the techniques can be applied to any depron plane made from plans. It's done with the back and forth between Scott and Dave and offers the same kind of at-the-field advice as the "old" videos. Good to have Dave back! There is also video of Scott cutting, assembling and fitting electronics to the plane. Once you view the video, the material covered in the video is backed up by in depth text and links for those who value details. You will come to appreciate all the work that Dave and Scott have put into the particulars. The links to components have been updated to include the most current components - things like flight stabilizers rather than gyros, for example. While the cost may seem high at first, this course will allow someone with no experience, someone who may have seen a video on YouTube or a guy flying at the field, to actually build a depron parkjet from the ground up, set it up and (hopefully) fly it well.

“It answered most of my questions and I still refer back to it”
Guys - I have to plug the Course here. I know it is expensive but it also includes F-22, F-117, F-18, EuroFighter, and a seaplane plans. I spent the money and it answered most of my questions and I still refer back to it when I get into different electronic configurations. (No I'm not getting any commission for RCPowers)

“I only wish that i had jumped in quicker.”
Yes my maiden flight was a great victory to me. Believe it or not, I am new to flight. Some people have noticed that it took me over a year from the time that i began participating on the RCPowers Forum until the maiden of my first F-22. This was too long, but it is due to my personality. I am an engineer by background and frequently find myself feeling that I can not proceed with something until I know everything about it. So...I study, take notes and delay progress until I feel completely ready. This is sometimes known as 'Analysis Paralysis'. Not a good thing because it slows me down. I wish i had just jumped in and built a plane sooner like i have seen so many others do on this Forum.
Not only did I study - not just read (I have hundreds of pages of notes that I took while studying the F-22 forum & the Course but i spent untold hours on the FMS simulator until I felt that i had total control of the aircraft. This study and simulator practice enabled me to have a very successful maiden, but it took me way too long. I only wish that I had jumped in quicker. I could have been enjoying this with my family long ago. So my recommendation to other newbies would be to study the forum and the Course, learn to fly the simulator but do it quickly.
I also learned another lesson about the construction of a first plane. I worked long and hard on mine to make it nice. I have since had many accidents. It still flies, but not like it did when it was new. I should have built my first one - quick & ugly - to learn on. It would have been better to just get some actual flight experience before building such a nice plane.
Regardless of my delayed methods of getting started, I'm hooked for life. I just finished my 2nd F-22 (with a KF4 - which I LOVE) and am planning to begin construction of the F-117 next week.
My first F117 will be quick and dirty. I just want to get one in the air.
Thanks again to the forum members, Dave Powers and Scott Lott. Well done!

“Joy to fly as a beginner”
Hey everyone, long time reader - first time poster. I got the Course and built up the F-22 EB with great success.
I have already (in 3 flights now) managed to pop both servo's loose, take a chunk out of the wing and snap an elevator but this depron is super easy to fix. I now need to rebuild the first 3 inches of nose - which seems to be a common problem - especially for me as I get a bit cocky!
Other than that, it is super stable - hardly had to trim it - just a little up elevator - and a joy to fly as a beginner
Really happy so far - just need to get some flying technique down!
    Big kudos to RCPowers.
